How come Europeans don't learn Spanish that much?

I've noticed that more Europeans learn French and Italian, but I've seen less French and Italian people who learn Spanish. Is it because Spain still has a king? I mean, Spain's by those countries, so why not learn Spanish? Is Spanish the “uncool” European language now?

Well in France we do learn Spanish, I can't tell about the other European countries.

We have to learn two languages, and we choose those two between English, German, and Spanish. Students usually choose English as a first language. For the second language, we like to take Spanish because it's easier than German.
